Our work
Curious about how we work with organizations to develop accessibility awareness, plans, and resources?

Real-world impact
These examples showcase the impact of our work across sectors – from identifying barriers to implementing lasting accessibility solutions that empower everyone.
Community engagement
Meaningful consultation with disabled people is both a legislative requirement and a foundational element of accessibility work.
Our work includes facilitating consultation sessions with disability communities, setting up advisory groups like accessibility committees and employee resource groups, and hosting accessible focus groups. We create high-trust engagements by involving professionals with lived experience in every stage of the project, from session design to delivery.
Case study: Designing accessible eLearning for Food Banks Canada
Our accessibility think tank model offers an innovative way to consult disabled people. Organizations including Vancity Community Investment Bank and WorkSafeBC have hired us to convene tailored think tanks to provide expert-level feedback informed by lived experience.

Accessibility planning
We’ve written over a dozen accessibility plans for clients such as:
- BC Institute of Technology
- BC Housing
- BC Lottery Corporation
- City of North Vancouver
- Law Foundation of BC
- North Vancouver City Library
- Open Door Group
- Regional District of Central Kootenay
- Small Business BC
- Strathcona Regional District
- Vancity Community Investment Bank
- WorkSafeBC
- Vancouver Coastal Health
We’ve analyzed and provided feedback on draft accessibility plans for 45 school districts and 30 public libraries.
We’ve also helped organizations action key legislative requirements alongside their accessibility plan launch. This includes helping to recruit and launch accessibility committees, conducting consultations with the disability community, and creating accessible feedback forms.

Accessibility training and instructional design
Team trainings
We offer UA’s standard and proven accessibility awareness training customized to your needs, as well as instructional design to create new learning experiences for diverse learners.
Our core and customized training sessions, led by facilitators with lived experience of disability, are designed to create meaningful impact that exceeds checklists. Our workshops help participants understand what accessibility is, why it matters, and how to embed it authentically in their daily work. To date, over 4,500 people have received our accessibility awareness training.
Instructional design
We’ve also built new e-learning courses and consulted clients on how to make their existing content more accessible and disability inclusive. We’ve developed in-house learning content for national nonprofits, local governments, and public sector organizations.
We’re the proud design team behind the e-learning course Effective Accessibility Committees hosted by the BC Accessibility Hub.

Accessible service design
For organizations that want hands-on support, our Accessible Service Delivery Framework can be applied to existing or new services. We’ll audit your existing service flows and provide recommendations for improving access, or lead your team through a hands-on co-design workshop to build skills in accessible service design.
Here’s a look at how we worked with Kwantlen Polytechnic University to apply the framework to student services.

Guides, toolkits, and resources
We’ve worked with various associations to develop resources that help their members adopt more accessible practices. We have led research and design, as well as development of multimedia elements for projects including:
- Research and design of a School Site Accessibility Tool and accompanying Guide for Developing Accessibility-Focused School District Policies for BC CAISE.
- Research and design of an Accessibility and Equity Guide for Food Banks for Food Banks BC.
- Development of a bilingual eLearning course called Without barriers, stigma or fear: a practical guide to accessibility and equity for food banks for Food Banks Canada member organizations.
- Research and co-authoring of Developing Your First Accessibility Plan, A Guide for BC Prescribed Organizations for Disability Alliance BC.
Digital audits
Identify and remove accessibility barriers with a comprehensive digital accessibility audit.
Our digital audits help organizations identify accessibility barriers in their websites, apps, digital content, and marketing or presentation materials.

“Untapped provided the Accessible Client Service Delivery training for our frontline staff. They used examples from our own services to help us think about different types of barriers and how to build more flexibility into the way we do things.
Everyone was so engaged, and the room was buzzing! We’re planning to use the framework in an upcoming leadership meeting to empower our management team to address accessibility in their own departments.”
